»Many people use art as an escape from daily routine. The Viennese artist Michaela Schweeger instead unites creativity, the economy and everyday life. She achieves this connection by designing wrapping paper for the Tyrolean supermarket chain MPREIS and decorating it with poems by Eugen Roth, Ringelnatz and other poets. Customers may, for instance, get their delicatessen wrapped in François Villon’s »Ballad for Home Use in Winter«. [gfh]

The independent economic committee “Initiative Business for Art” and the Austrian broadcasting corporation ORF presented the 15th edition of the art sponsorship award “Maecenas 2003”. MPREIS received the prestigious award for its literary delicatessen paper.
