Filippo & Maria Casella

History

Since 1820, the Casellas Family is dedicated to the viniculture. Filippo and Maria Casella moved from Italy to Australia at the beginning of the 50ies. Filippo founded his own wine cellars in 1969. One of their three sons, John Casella, took over the family business in 1994 with the vision, to combine old traditions with new technology.

In 2008, John Casella was awarded the international wine entrepreneur of the year at the wine fair ‘Prowein’ in Düsseldorf. John Casella reached his goals within a few years and made the wine brand [yellow tail] to Australia’s most famous.

Casella Wines is located in Riverina, in the South East of Australia. The business early focussed on export and is the guiding Australian brand in Europe, Asia, Great Britain, the USA, and Canada. In September 2003, [yellow tail] was introduced in its own country and enjoys big success ever since then.
There are worldwide two million glasses [yellow tail] consumed every day.
