Can I take my pet into the store?

No – for reasons of hygiene, the law does not permit pets (this includes dogs) in grocery stores. In the case of controls by the food safety authority, the store management is held responsible for any breaches and may even be convicted under particular circumstances.

The only exceptions are trained dogs that accompany handicapped individuals.

What is the minimum age for legally purchasing alcohol?

Alcohol must not be sold to persons under the age of sixteen. Young persons between the age of 16 and 18 are not allowed to purchase alcoholic beverages other than beer, wine and sparkling wine (mixed beverages are also excluded)!

Which stores are open on Sundays and public holidays?

MPREIS Innsbruck, Central Train Station: daily (including Sundays) from 06:00h until 21:00h.

Some of our stores located in winter resorts and centres of summer tourism are seasonally open on Sundays. Stores with extended opening hours in the winter season are located in Ellmau, Kitzbühel, Längenfeld, Maurach, Mayrhofen, Neustift, Seefeld, Serfaus, Sölden, St. Anton, St. Johann and Wildschönau. DELICATESSEN

Why do the delicatessen staff not wear gloves?


Gloves are by far less hygienic than ”bare hands“. The food safety authority also shares this opinion.
Our employees at the delicatessen section wash their hands a minimum of twenty times per day. If gloves are used, it is not possible to wash hands and bacteria stays on the surface of the gloves. Furthermore, our staff uses forks and tongs whenever possible to ensure optimum hygiene.

Why are cold meats not freshly cut in some markets?

Some sausage products are pre-cut in preparation for peak hours when the stores are highly frequented. However, our customers are always welcome to ask for freshly cut delicatessen!

PRICING AND SPECIAL OFFERS

Why does MPREIS encourage its customers to check their receipts? 

MPREIS constantly strives to optimize its processes. However, human and technical errors can never be totally excluded. In order to discover possible errors (and their causes) we kindly ask our customers to check their receipts.
The relevant prices for customers are always those on display on the shelf (or rack). If you should notice any irregularities in your receipt, please inform the checkout assistant. If you should notice the mistake at home, please report it the next time you visit our store or send an e-mail to info@mpreis.at. Please provide the following information in your message: the store and articles concerned and, if possible, the headline of your receipt. Of course we will refund the difference!

Why does MPREIS offer so many quantity discounts?

MPREIS wants to offer its customers their favourite products at the lowest possible price. This is not possible through regular discount offers. Therefore, our product range includes many offers for multiple purchases. Purchasing more than one item of a product increases our sales volume and permits us to maintain special offers over an extended period of time. For instance, MPREIS permanently offers between 40 and 50 coffee products at discount prices.  This means that there is a relatively high possibility that our customers find their favourite products at discount prices.Many of our customers appreciate this strategy as it permits them to purchase large quantities at extremely low prices (cheaper than at discount stores). For customers who are not interested in multiple purchase discounts there is a very attractive alternative:  700 products across our product range are sold at discount prices comparable to those of discount chains (i.e. all staple foods are available at MPREIS at discount prices).Discount prices are displayed on the shelves with a blue background.

 

Is it true that MPREIS offers 700 products at discount prices?

MPREIS offers a very wide product range (approx. 8000 items) to satisfy the various customer groups.  Customers who prefer branded articles can take advantage of multiple purchase offers and obtain high-quality products at very attractive prices. Customers who are looking for the lowest prices do not need to shop at a special discount store as MPREIS offers 700 discount products (except non-food articles).

Can I order goods from MPREIS through the Internet?

I got a parking ticket while I was shopping at MPREIS, what can I do?

We frequently notice vehicles on our customer car parks that exceed the maximum duration of parking. Since this leads to a shortage of parking space for our customers, we introduced controls on our parking lots. Unfortunately, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between abusive parking and actual customers. If you should have received a parking ticket while you were shopping in one of our stores, please contact Sabine Avdic (DW 4943 bzw. unter sabine.avdic@mpreis.at), or inform the store manager.  Your parking ticket will be withdrawn immediately.

Why are the shelves sometimes rearranged?

We constantly adapt our product range to the changing demand of individual product groups and frequently introduce new products.
In order to offer an attractive product range and make shopping as easy as possible for our customers, it is necessary to regularly adapt the store arrangement to changing needs. 
 

Why does MPREIS place so much value on modernizing the construction and architecture of its stores?

Shopping is often a hectic activity in unattractive, functional buildings. MPREIS wants to bring more quality of life into daily routine.

Can I find MPREIS stores only in Tyrol?

Is it true that MPREIS employs staff from 30 different nations?

Yes! Sustainable actions are an important management principle of our company. Sustainability is not limited to marketing local products, it also includes the integration of employees with various cultural and social backgrounds. As one of Tyrol’s largest employers, we are aware of our responsibility to secure existing jobs and permanently create attractive new job opportunities.
Currently, the local population includes many children from migrant families in the second and third generation. Our contribution to their social integration helps avoid social tension as it occurs, for instance, in France (very high unemployment rate among immigrants).

How many articles are available at MPREIS?

Our stores offer an average of 8.000 to 10.000 different articles. Approximately 500 of these products are organic, approximately 2000 are produced locally and approximately 700 are available at discount prices. Approximately 500 items are promoted through multiple purchase offers.

Does MPREIS produce its own products?

Yes – our head office in Völs includes a bakery and a meat processing plant (meat processing and sausage production).

What means ORGANIC/BIO?

How can I find organic products in the MPREIS stores? Are they specifically labelled?

Our organic products are marked with a green stripe on the shelves. Currently we offer approximately 500 organic products. We constantly strive to expand this offer.
